IPDPS 2015 Student Travel

Applications for Student Travel Grants are under review. Applicants who did not register by March 30th have been withdrawn from consideration. Notice of grant awards will be sent after sent after April 7, 2015 and will include instructions for filing for the grant payment post conference. Grants are in the form of reimbursement against actual receipts and are intended where there is no other support available to the student.

To encourage participation in the PhD Forum Student Author Program, PhD Forum participants who are IEEE members are eligible for discounted registration fees.  (This does not apply to students who are also authors of a paper being presented in main conference or workshops.)

This year, a grant from the US National Science Foundation has been awarded to encourage and support US-based student participation at IPDPS 2015 in India. For student authors and PhD Forum participants outside the US, travel assistance grants are available for all IPDPS 2015 student authors, including those accepted to participate in the PhD Forum. They are administered by the IPDPS sponsor TCPP, the IEEE Computer Society Technical Committee on Parallel Processing.

Priority will be given to students -based on merit- who would otherwise be unable to attend the conference and to graduate students presenting their own published work. Notice of grants awarded will be made prior to the conference.

The grants will be distributed post-conference in the form of reimbursements against actual travel, registration and accommodations expenses submitted by the student. The amount of the grants will be based in part on student travel requirements, quality of paper/poster, and on availability of funds. Notification of awards will be made in late March.

There will be two submission dates for applications and announcement of awards:

  • February 15, 2015
    – Application deadline for all student authors in main conference
  • March 7, 2014
    – Application deadline for all student authors in workshops & PhD Forum

To qualify for a student travel assistance grant, a recipient must be:

  1. author of an accepted conference, PhD forum, or workshop paper and be registered for the conference,
  2. Student Member of IEEE Computer Society at the time he/she submits an application, and
  3. full-time student regularly registered toward a degree in computer science, engineering or related field at a university.
